That was 2007 then...

It's (nearly) all over now!

Many, many thanks to all my customers (and those who didn't become customers in 2007, don't be shy, come back and let's have another chat!)

My landscape images have been a bit "neglected" this year, something I'm keen to rectify in 2008.

I'm straight into weddings in 2008, with my first booking being on the 5th January...if you are getting married and are interested in having my photograph your day, then please get in touch to see if I'm still available...

It's been a "learning year" for me - I have increased my knowledge though networking (hate that term) with other photographers, and have attended some really useful seminars. I have also sourced new (& much more affordable suppliers for coffee table books & albums, and better yet I have passed that saving on to my customers!)

I have has my fingers burned with setting up a studio, a venture that left a sour taste in my mouth, with broken promises and apathy from others who claimed to be keen... I haev access to studio space on an "as and when" needed basis, so please contact me if that's of interest!

2007 will also be remembered as the year of my first "nude" photoshoot (don't worry, I was "comprehesively covered" - many thanks to Amanda - you had the patience of a satint & looked stunning!)

So, here's to 2008. All the best to you all, take a large swig of what ever your chosen tipple is, (and dare I say it) reach for a large cigar & welcome the new year!

Best regards

Chris

Revisions to the site

I hope you like the newly refreshed main site.

I have been a bit lazy in updating the layout & navigation of my site, and I finally took myself in hand & spent the weekend tweaking it.

It should now be easier to find your wedding gallery & also to find my landscape galleries (that had got "lost" in sub menus & sub pages...

Please let me know your comments. Many thanks.

What's happened to the hard work ethic?

Since I last posted here, I have been mulling over the lack of any "work ethic" in society today!

Obviously as you are reading ,my blog, I feel that you are a cultured & educated person, so the above would. obviously not apply to you!!

I regularly get approached by young photographers who are interested in discussing their approach, and whether I would be interested in helping them out with advice, etc... When I was first approached I found it hugely flattering, and devoted time & effort into helping young photographers build their skills & mature...

Now after so many contacts that lead to nothing I'm less willing to get involved - which I feel reflects badly on me...

Example: Phone rings, I have a chat to the person wanting advice, etc. No problem, I say, why not email me a link to some shots you have, then give me a call back...OK they say. That will be the last I hear of them! No email & no call back... OK, no big deal, but why call in the first place?

Hey, ho, what's it matter to me, really, in the grand scheme of things?

Nothing really, but it's a bit frustrating for me to be left "hanging"...I do want to help, but if the original caller can't be bothered to call / email back then...

Sorry all, rant over!

Normal service will be resumed again soon...

Welcome to the Picture of Suffolk Blog...

Hello & welcome!

A bit of a vanity project at the moment, but I hope to be able to highlight some of the downsides to photography, as well as the good bits.

Background - I'm building up a wedding & portrait photography business off the back of my expanding landscape images.

You may want to have a look at the A Picture of Suffolk main site. (but then again you may not)

Please don't be shy letting me know any comments you may have!

Here goes & keep watching this space!
